Individual Giving

Support our Mission

Your individual contributions can make a significant impact on preserving and promoting Polish culture.

We’re facing a critical moment in Polish American history in the Midwest. The preservation of Polish and Polish American culture in the Northwest Ohio area is facing a significant decline, evidenced by the closure of key community spaces that once served as vital gathering places for cultural events. These closures reduce opportunities for communal activities, traditional celebrations, and cultural education, leading to a gradual erosion of shared heritage.

As these spaces disappear, so too does the sense of community and continuity that has long been a cornerstone of Polish American life in the region. Without dedicated venues to host festivals, dances, and social gatherings, the transmission of cultural practices to future generations is jeopardized, underscoring the urgent need for renewed efforts in cultural preservation and support.

NWOPCC hopes that the development of an established Cultural Center will be a hub in the Northwest Ohio region for all to utilize and enjoy. Without a designated space to educate, celebrate, or absorb Polish American tradition, we risk losing crucial cultural heritage – and we lose the chance to build community.

Your contributions to the Northwest Ohio Polish Cultural Center are not only important to the creation of the space in which Polish American culture can be remembered; they’re important to Polish history overall. Learn how you can help below:

“Polish people looked… to Toledo as a welcoming place to live, raise their families, make their dreams, and create the life that was being deprived of them back home.

“Toledo has always played that role for so many communities. We are a city that doesn’t always get it right; but what we’ve always done well, I believe, is to be a welcoming, diverse community.”
— Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz
